A printed form is available at the “Mairie” and it specifies all that is required. The form is placed with the local “Mairie” before work starts, for a period of 15 days ; if your form is correct and complete, you will receive an acknowledgment of receipt.

There is normally a delay of a months, if there is a greater delay you will be advised and receive a notification. The works cannot start before the delay has expired ; if you did not receive any reply it means you are granted the work permit.

The beneficiary of the building permit must show a copy of the permit on a clearly visible board on the land or building which is the subject of the permit The permit is not valid any longer if work has not started before the first 2 years following the notification and also if works stop for more than a year.
